Marco Mantovani studied in Mantova, in Fiesole with Andrea Lucchesini, and at the Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel with Aleksandar Madžar. He performs regularly as a soloist, with orchestra, and as a chamber musician in major concert halls in Belgium (BOZAR and Flagey), Italy (La Fenice in Venice, Teatro Regio in Parma, La Pergola in Florence), China (Forbidden City Concert Hall in Beijing, Oriental Art Center in Shanghai), as well as in Porto (Casa da Música) and Salzburg (Mozarteum). He obtained the title of Doctor of Arts (PhD) from the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) and the Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel (KCB) with the thesis “The Poets’ Garden: Inside the Mind of an Interpreter of Robert Schumann.” His recording cycle devoted to Schumann was awarded the “Supersonic” Prize by Pizzicato and nominated for the 2025 ICMA Awards. Pianist Maria João Pires said of him: “From the first day I discovered somebody with great talent and wonderful musicality, wishing to understand music in a deep way.”
