Marco Mantovani, classical pianist

Italian pianist Marco Mantovani leads an active international career, performing in recital, with orchestras, and as a chamber musician at venues such as Bozar and Flagey in Brussels, La Fenice in Venice, Teatro Regio in Parma, Forbidden City Concert Hall in Beijing, Oriental Art Center in Shanghai, and Casa da Música in Porto. He studied in Mantova, in Fiesole with Andrea Lucchesini, and in Brussels with Aleksandar Madžar.

He holds a Doctorate (PhD) in the Arts, awarded jointly by the Vrije Universiteit Brussel and the Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel, with a thesis on the pianistic world of Robert Schumann. Between 2022 and 2024, he recorded three albums for Etcetera Records dedicated to the composer's piano works. His latest album, On the Shoulders of Giants, received a Supersonic Award by Pizzicato and was nominated for the International Classical Music Awards (ICMA) in 2025. 

Marco Mantovani is assistant piano professor since 2019 at the Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel, where he collaborates with renowned faculty including Aleksandar Madzar, Boyan Vodenitcharov, Jan Michiels, and Piet Kuijken. Pianist Maria João Pires says of him: " From the first day I discovered somebody with great talent and wonderful musicality, wishing to understand music in a deep way."
